felted toys

Hi Everyone,

How would one go about felting a stuffed toy?

Would it be possible to stuff first and felt next or the other way?

I am truly new at this, tried my first bag last night (it worked:clap ), so now I have all these ideas that I'd like to try.

I have not tried this. You might try a swatch first, just to see if it felts the way you want it to with it being stuffed. ALso you probably wouldn't want to stuff it quite as tightly as you would if it was the finished product, since it will shrink.Michelle

I have heard (from reliable sources-books) that you can stuff the project and close it up prior to fulling/felting. Just don't stuff tight as it will tighten up when the wool shrinks. It may take some practise to get proportions right, but it should make a nice, tight, completed item.

It would be a lot more fun that way!

I might just give it a try.:ducky

Thanks.
