On the basement area at the Galleria (I forget the name) they sell Susan Bates Hooks, lots of crochet patterns and imported yarns. I remember it's near David's Salon and Equitable PCI Bank. The store also has lots of cross-stitch stuff.

 

I also use 2 strands of cotton thread for sportweight and 3 strands for worsted weight yarn. There is a great supplier of Monaco threads in Rosario Bridge in Pasig right on Meralco Ave immediately after C-5. I think it's like P170 per kilo. Really worth it.
