Thread Bookmarks

I've spent the last several hours uploading all my crochet pictures to Photobucket and organizing them. What a nice, free service! Here's a photo of three bookmarks I made this past week. (I've never posted a photo before, so I hope this works!) The photo is a little murky because it's a very low resolution camera, but hopefully you can tell that they say "FAITH," "HOPE," and "LOVE."

WOW! I would very much someday like to learn how to do filet crochet. I have tried many times and it just does't sink in! Your work is beautiful!

I did stray from the pattern a little because I wanted to be able to use them right-side-up and still have the tassel coming out of the top of the book so it can sit on a shelf.

 

This was my first time doing filet crochet, and it was so much easier than I thought. Just double crochets and chains. I don't know if all filet is this easy, but I've got more confidence now to try some more projects and find out.

Most filet crochet is very easy, depending on the complexity of the pattern you're making. My mom has a filet pattern of a peacock sitting on a pedestal and it took her a long time to make it, mostly cause the article is so big. My sister took it before I could see the finished thing though. I really need to get her to send me another copy of it cause I want to make one tooand I lost my copy of it.

 

Those bookmarks are lovely.
