Wool Washing Detergents

I made an afghan for my mother in law and i used wool, so it's hand wash only. I was inexperienced with yarn when i made it. What do you all use to wash hand wash wool? Where do you buy it?

 

I thought there was a post about this but i searched and couldn't find it.

I use Dawn dishwashing liquid.

I've never used it, but I saw a small bottle of cleaner/detergent for knitted items at A.C. Moore. It was on the bottom shelf where all the knit needles and such are.

Woolite - sold in just about any store that sells laundry detergent

I like Eucalan. I just picked up some of the new lavender kind at my LYS, and it smells heavenly. It's great for getting rid of that musty wet wool smell. If you follow that link to their website, you can get a free sample of it.

I use liquid castile soap. I know folks who use baby shampoo. Detergent will take the lanolin out of the wool. I find the wool stays softer and, in my opinion, nicer, with the castile soap. I use Dr. Bronner's.
