Michael's Sale - Week of 06/27/2004

I scored some TLC Amore yarn (by Red Heart) that I have been lusting after. It was on sale for $4.99 a skein (down a dollar, I think). I bought four skeins of black (for the wrap I'm gonna make myself), and 1 skein each of Lt. Thyme and Dk. Thyme for a scarf or two (to be given as gifts).

I also found (at Walmart) that they had their Lion Brand Cotton-Ease on sale (to be discontinued maybe?) for $3.00 each (a savings of $1.00 only). I bought three balls (1-sugarplum, 1-mint and 1-strawberry cream). I think I'll crochet a sling bag for a niece.

That was the first thing I did this morning...

"Look for a Michael's Ad!" I told my hubby as he pulled out all the Best Buy and Circuit City flyers.

The Michael's in my area has the TLC Amore on sale for $4.47 a skein! And Patons Grace $3.67, and Bernat Cottontots $2.77 each... I think I'm going to go tomorrow and pick up some TLC Amore (and whatever else happens to jump into my basket)

I've never used Amore but have always had to touch it whenever I'm in the yarn section

I'd like to make an afghan but not quite sure how it would turn out, and I don't see any patterns with this yarn for an afghan... maybe I'll make a scarf for my sister in Michigan? I don't need any 'cause I'm in Florida!!
