What's your favorite splurge yarn?

I want to try some semi expensive yarn from Patternworks or something, but there are so many out there. So I was just wondering if anyone has used any pricey yarn that they loved.

cashmere.. hands down.....not sure if that is too pricey for you but it sure is nice.. i usually get mine by the cone on ebay .. seems i get a better deal like that

The cashmere is tempting me on Ebay, but I haven't been able to find anything that will tell me what weight it is. I'm still a newbie to all of this crochet stuff, but I'd love to make myself a cashmere scarf for the coming winter (and maybe a hat, too)...would one of the 1lb cones be good enough for that? Do you have any patterns for it?

 

I haven't really done any splurging on yarns yet; the Lion Brand Microspun is the most expensive stuff I've bought, and I got it for $2.75 a ball! I'd love to try my hand at a soft cashmere scarf!

The only splurge yarn I've bought so far is Berroco Suede that I used for a poncho for my daughter It's the solid purple stripe. I actually got it for a little less than the Herrschner's price.

 

Some day I want to try cashmere and mohair.
