Whoa...overwhelmed with chenille...

So I went just a little bit overboard at the craft store yesterday. I just needed another "P" hook (two projects with that size going currently, didn't want to keep switching hooks), that's all I went in for. And one skein of green Light 'n Lofty for the trim on my jacket. And one skein of black for MIL's afghan.

Then I saw the Lion Brand Chenille...normally over $7 per skein, on sale for $5.98 each...almost $2 off.

So I had to touch it. 'Cause it looked soft and cuddly (like I haven't touched chenille yarn before...). Then I had to look at the label...which convienently had a pattern for a nice, simple afghan with a P hook (my favorite hook - the one I came in for a duplicate of). Hmmm....

There were several colors - black, blue, red, tan, gold and cream. The tan and cream match the colors of my living room furniture *perfectly*, and DH needs an afghan for his chair (I have one for mine)...Hmmm...

Both my parents and my sis and BIL have living rooms in navy blue...hmm...my dad might love an afghan, or my sis might like a soft new vest...

Mom loves red, and I was thinking a sweater for her - chenille would be soft and cozy... Hmm...

Needless to say, I spent *way* too much $$ on Chenille yesterday...and I now have enough of it to make some *very* nice presents out of. LOL

Now the question is, how do I tell DH that I spent over $100 on yarn yesterday?

Yeah...I could do that! Make some things to sell!

Nah...I'll tell DH - I taught him to crochet too last year, and though he doesn't do much of it, he understands my love of soft, plush yarns. Odds are he'll just shake his head at me (and kick himself for saying no to that poker set he wanted to buy this week), but he'll be happy he's getting an afghan out of it (the throw I have for him to use right now is too short...he'll appreciate something long enough to cover his toes).

I won't tell...

I can't talk, I just got a box from Johns-Trading-Post 2 huge cones of yarn :::shoving box under desk::::

Rebecca, thanks for recomending that seller The yarn is lovely and there is so MUCH of it....miles of yarn on each cone. I'm in yarn.... what a way to go!

Anyway, he sells lots of chenille, check it out!

Holly
