Easter Basket

Sorry for the fuzzy picture, but here's the Easter basket I made this week for my daughter. It turned out really cute. The daycare workers were havin fits over it. If I make another one, I'll try to figure out a way to make the handle part stiffer, like maybe use plastic canvas or something.

As far as the handle....I have used florist wire in the past wrapped with matching yarn!! It worked real well!

I think it was great ... I was thinking you could crochet around plastic canvas then I saw you say maybe plastic canvas cool I bet your daughter just loves it

Very pretty! Either using plastic canvis or inserting wire, or even pipe cleaners depending on the lenght, would work well.

Really nice job! Your sides stand up so well. I had the same issue the handle on my daughters basket I made last year. She didn't care, she thinks it is a hat and wears it on her head all of the time (she is two).

to solve the droopy handle problem I crocheted over a pipe cleaner for a narrow handle. For a bigger basket I made a wider handle and then crocheted over a pipe cleaner on both sides of the handle. Made it feel like that stiff ribbon you get at Christmas.
