Very pretty. I love the colors. I am doing one with the ocean, that mint green, and a purple. I am making mine for a baby girl. Then when I am done with that one I sould have enough left over to make one for my new baby. She is due in june.

Those are great! I love the black in between the colors, and the edging on the rainbow one is awesome! :yes

This one is just scraps of yarn I had, I wanted to see what it looked like with the black.

I didn't find out until last month. I went in for my annual exam and when they asked how long it had been since my last cycle I told them and they did a test and it was positive. I didn't think anything about the timing because my body has been funny in that area for several years. Needless to say there will be a 9 year age difference between her and my youngest. Almost 12 between her and my oldest. I guess I will have built in babysitters.:cheer If anyone is interested I have posted ultrasound pics on my blog.

I'm about to start a round ripple with some scrap blues. I'm sure it's been asked before, but how many ounces/grams does it take to do a blanket, and what size (inches) blanket did that number of ounces make? I ought to be able to figure it out from there to see if I have enough yarn. My high school algebra and geometry at work... my first regular ripple was figured down to how much yarn it took per stripe. :P

This is a link to the page where I have posted 3 of my rr's. the light pink and verigated one I had a total of 26 ounce of yarn and used almost all of it. it is 36 rows. the pink and purple one i had 6 7oz skeins and used almost all of it on that one. I think the light pink one was about 40 inches and the other around 50. Now the purple one you see started took alot more yarn but was at least 90 inches when done. I started out with 3 skeins of 1#yarn and 2 5 oz skeins of the verigated. I had to buy more of both the purples. I bought 7 oz of the light purple and 16 ounces of the dark. I think I have about half of them left. it didn't take a whole 16 oz of the cream but used all of the verigated. hope this helps.

Everyones RR's are beautiful...Dayzee I love the colors...very nice.

I have my own update...I'm getting closer to finished with Mom's RR. She wants it really big though, so it will drape over her bed...

I'm sorry I haven't been on in like a week, I've done nothing but work on my ripple.

the first link is the one I showed a while back, and the next two are how far along I am now. The last one...I got my dog in the pic as a point of reference. He's only about 15 inches high but he's 65lbs...he's a big boy. The afghan is probably nearing 6 feet end to end. My mom asked me to make it really big....she wants it to drape over her bed....SIGH!!!! So back to it tonight.

Really ladies, very impressive work. OH...kudos to Aggie Mae...Mine is also her pattern.

here are two more round ripples.....The black one is a birthday present for my bil. For once I am done on time, lol

The second one is a rainbow rr based on one posted in this thread. It is the one I wanted to do in ss brites, well didn't find the right colors in ss brites, so I used rhss. This one is for my bil's mother, she has been having a rough time lately so I wanted to do something to cheer her up she will be receiving this on Sunday. I still love this pattern so will probably be back with more rrs.:) I really like the blue waves rr posted on another thread and still have two more rrs to do for my mil and fil, hmm maybe I should be stitching instead of typing, lol

Thanks for looking, happy stitching...

I like the rainbow one but the black with the rainbow lines and points is AWESOME! You make some awesome round ripples and blankets.

Thanks for the complements...it is very motivating... I took pictures of it on her bed today, to give me a point of reference to what I have left to meet the appropriate drape over the sides effect...I'm figuring about 9 more rounds....Its killing me...I want to start a new one!

Thank you, I like how that one is different, not like my others. But that's what I like about the pattern it's so versatile. Like using a different pattern each time.

can I ask how you get the colour into the skip stitches? do you carry the yarn though the black to get that effect? sorry if this seems a rather silly question! doh! :)

Not a silly question at all, I had trouble with that part on my first spiderman. I started with the instructions for this pattern http://www.angelfire.com/tx5/angelcrafts/patterns/spidermanroundrippleafghan.html

But for some reason, I just couldn't get it to look the way I thought it should so I changed it a bit. I attached the yarn at the top, and brought the yarn up through the bottom, did a chain two or three depending on whether it was a large shell or small shell of the ch 2 sp of the previous round. Hope that makes sense, not so good at explaining things. :blush

Hello all,

I have a question for you RR experts..I am getting ready to start a rainbow RR for my 1st GDD who will be here in April. How big do you all usually make the baby RR's?

I've only made one other RR and didn't plan the color sequence too carefully. It turned out ok, but I want to do better with this one. If I can figure out approx size, then will be able to plan the color sequence.

I'm sure this information has been posted here, but can't for the life of me find it!

Thank you all.

I like my baby rr's to be kind of big. I usually make mine 40 to 50 inches. I would at least make it 36 inches. Most make theirs around 36-40 rows depending on hook size. I use a j hook. Here is a link to a few I have done. the light pink one is 36 rows and about 40 inches.
