I did a modification of the pattern.

This is the baby RR I am making for the games.

The idea came to me in the wee hours of the morning right before the games started, so I grabbed my hook and a practice skein of yarn and tried and tried to get the effect, but couldn't get it as pronounced as I wanted it with back loop only, so I kept trying and it finally hit me .....

back post double crochet.

Yep, sure did. Makes a huge difference.

And the back side of the RR is flat, so it won't snag on anything.

That is a good thing since it is going to a NICU.

 

HMMMMM....

This is the 2nd preemie RR done with this baby yarn and color....maybe it could go to twin preemies....and if the twins are a girl and boy, the ruffled one could go to the girl

I'm joining in! I have never tried a RR before and yesterday decided there was not a better time than now.....I have no clue how big I am going to make it or who it is for. It's a fun pattern, I will post progress pics later. I have to confess I did screw up the center:( but it turned out pretty neat looking so I left it alone.

Mel, I love this. I was already in awe of your talent with the RR's but now am even more impressed. I have only finished two so far, and am working on my 3rd and 4th. May I ask, do you do the bpdc every round or every other round? (My monitor isn't the greatest on detail). I will definitely use this technique in the next RR I make.
