Substituting Fun Fur for Worsted in stuffed animals?? Help!!

I've been asked to do a stuffed animal type pattern, which calls for worsted weight acrylic... but I'm supposed to do it using Fun Fur instead.

What do you think?? :eek2

Can this be done? Will the details of the animal get lost in the fur? Any thoughts? Anyone tried this?

Also - the pattern calls for 800 yards of worsted. Would it also take 800 yards of Fun Fur, then? Any ideas??

ANY help is greatly appreciated!!! :fc Thanks so much!!!:)h

Based on my experience with FFF (my new abr. for the stuff after agreeing to make a scarf out of it) I can only say this.... do it with ww AND the fur, it'll save you lots of headaches. I've used fur held with a strand of yarn and had no troubles at all, but alone it turns me into a raving lunatic.

That's all I can say on it lol.

If you need 800 yards of Fun Fur that would be awfully expensive for a stuffed animal. There is only 64 yards on each skein at $4 a skein if it is on sale. Also if you need to frog, it is very difficult to do. :twocents I also use a strand of regular yarn with the fun fur much easier to work with. :fc
