Nylon Netting?

I hope this post is going in the right area.

 

My soon to be mother in law, avid crocheter, over christmas showed me a pot scrubber that a friend made for her.

 

She had never seen one of these before (much to my shock), and was asking me if i knew where to get the "netting" that was used in it.

 

I had no idea.

 

So, i thought, here would be a great place to ask.

 

I've searched for patterns for these things, and they all call for the nylon netting, but i have no idea where to find this stuff.

 

Any suggestions?

 

I'd love to get her some, in exchange for some scrubbies, of course.

I bought some nylon netting at Wal-Mart, usually in bright colors and really cheap. It's been a long time since I did it because I bought two yards of two different colors, which has lasted me two or three years now. But I think it was then about 25¢ a yard, not bad! )

Found in what section? With the spooled ribbons and such?

I didn't mention that part because I guess most Walmarts would be different. In mine it is on the wall where they keep most of the quilting fabric... by the bolts of linen and things.

i got m ine here too Julie in the fabric section.. jsut make sure its the netting not the tulle

I think the nylon netting could be tulle ribbon, usually comes in 6in wide spools and can also usually be found in the floral craft department. Cutting a panel of tulle fabric into strips would be the same thing if you can't find the ribbon.

the tulle isnt as big holed (for lack of a better word) so it wouldnt have as much scrub power...and its also more delicate

I keep thinking I want to try the tulle for bath puffs... :thinking2 It wouldn't be as abrasive as the netting and therefore much nicer on skin. I think.

tulle would be awesome for that Julie.. i have used the ribbon for that and it makes it easier to handle because its already in strips.... a little more costly but not too bad...
