Lion Brand Microspun...good for baby blankets?

I have this pattern that calls for 9 rolls of this microspun yarn. Wow, it is so soft, but very expensive!!! Has anyone made a bably blanket out of this yarn? Would you recommend it?

I just used it to make a baby sweater. While it is nice and soft I would not recommend it for a baby blanket unless the stitches are small like SC or HDC. The yarn tends to split. I had to keep redoing stitches cause I would have a little ply of yarn sticking up that I didn't caught when I yarned over. I would do what Three Olives said. Try a different yarn with the same gauge.

I agree that it's kinda pricey, and almost -too- nice to use for a baby blanket -- unless the parents are just going to display it, and not use it (which happens a lot).

I'm just thinking of microspun with drool and spit-up on it... LOL!

I have used Cotton Tots and Simply Soft in the past... I think I like the Simply Soft the best.
