Yarn Links?

Oh no, a site that accepts Paypal? I know I'm headed for trouble now... lol

I am trying so hard to cut the credit cards out of my life and it's hard when you shop on-line so much. Our selection of yarns up here is limited so I buy a lot on-line. Not to mention all the other things I buy. I think all major on-line retailers should accept PayPal.

Thanks so much for letting us know about that.

I have only bought yarn from two sites so far

Herrschners

JoAnn's

but will definitely be trying elann.com out.

I have ordered twice from http://www.knitting-warehouse.com. They accept credit cards (not sure of Paypal) and their service is fast. Both times I placed an online order and the merchandise was delivered within a few days and it was correct.

Also another mail order is http://www.smileysyarns.com.

Have any of you used crafts etc. It is a part of Hobby Lobby. I order from the all the time. I usually receive my order in about a week. They send any email to track your order and they also tell you if the item you want is in stock. They have a lot of other craft stuff.

I got a catalog from Knit Picks the other day. Their merino wool (I'm thinking of all my fulling friends out there!) seems very reasonably priced AND there are some awesome colors! (no more koolaid dyed fingers!) They seem to cater to knitters... :shrug I guess not everyone knows how cool :danc we CROCHETERS are.

Here's some yummy, reasonably priced 100%, good for felting wool Bartlett Yarn

I saw a big huge box of this stuff today I went to a spinning/fiber day at a private school for learning disabled kids. They have a fiber arts program and we got to peek in the art room. The kids (both girls and boys!) spend time every day knitting, weaving, felting, crocheting, sewing & quilting. Doesn't hurt that the director of the school is a spinner that has her own herd of wool sheep & goats

This store and mail order warehouse is located in my area. I noticed they have some specialty yarns on sale. I was there today and picked up some good deals on odd dye lot yarns. I was employed there (office) for 17 years along with each of my daughters who worked in the retail store while attending high school and college. Needless to say much of my pay check was returned to the company.

This link was posted to a crochet email list I'm on today. I KNOW I'm in trouble now!

Australian Knitting Wool Online Shop

They have 7 ounce (440 yard) skeins of DK Merino Wool in a palette of 32 colors at a list price of AUD$11.20, but this is the price for locals. For folks outside of Australia, the price is AUD$10.18. Using the nifty Universal Currency Converter, I found that this price translates to a mere $7.96 per skein! For all you wool lovers out there, this sounds like it could be a great deal, even with the shipping charges.

According to their FAQ, they only take Visa MC and BankCard. I have a debit card with the Visa logo that I use all the time, so that shouldn't be a problem for me. As soon as I have enough $$$ coralled for a yarn purchase, I think I will order some and will report back on the experience...

Right now, I'm on pins and needles waiting for my order from KnitPicks. :sheepjump
