3/16: Official CPC Update!

I know a lot of you (but not nearly all of you) have been having trouble accessing CPC (Crochet Pattern Central) due to various reasons beyond my control. These problems, we believe, are due to very badly behaving DNS and my domain registrar. Registerfly. See the article that came out Slashdot today.

Good news:

There is a temporary fix! View CPC by its IP: http://200.62.22.148 Type or paste that number (with the dots intact) into your browser (Firefox/IE, doesn't matter). CPC was just re-coded this morning to make all the directory pages work when viewed by IP.

Bad News (added 3/25) The domain absolutely cannot be moved away from Registerfly; they refuse to issue me a transfer code. I had a computer expert look into the whole issue and there is nothing I can do until they cooperate or somebody takes them over.

PS- If you are a KPC (Knitting Pattern Central) fan as well, its IP is http://200.62.22.149/

You're welcome; I'm so sorry it still doesn't work the regular way!

Registerfly refuses to issue me transfer codes and until they do, I am completely and positively stuck. I have that on good authority.

Is there any way that "there is strength in numbers" regarding this? I mean if enough of us start contacting them?

Hmmm, good question. Registerfly flat out isn't answering any emails. ICANN (the authority over domains) answers but nothing has been getting done. Let me ask and see what my tech thinks...

The answer: It's a good idea! Anybody who wants to help, please do! To obtain the email address of who to contact (and a quick "explanation" so you know why you're writing) please email me. You can do this by clicking on my username (to the left on this post) and saying "send RachelG an email" or something similiar. PM would work also, but depending on the interest, that could fill up quickly.

OR, go here and choose an email address you think appropriate:

http://www.icann.org/general/contact.htm

Quickly explain that you are a fan of http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com but that (as they know) Registerfly is having DNS trouble and refuses to issue the owner a transfer code so she can move the domain elsewhere. Is there anything they can do to speed up the process.

(or something to that effect)

Thanks!
