What to do with a UFO gift

Hmmm, it the Joann's brand hook I bought doesn't work out, I will give a Quicksilver a try, then. I'm basing my opinion of Bates' hooks on old ones of my mom's and grandma's, so I guess it's worth a try.

 

Anything to get this blanket done and out of my house!

YOU CAN DO IT!! GO FOR IT, if you're that close to finishing. Do a different border, a round or two.

Edging (from Art of Tangle's Snowflake afghan)

Row 1: With right side facing join light color with an sc, sc in each st around; sl st in beg sc, ch 1 and turn.

Row 2: Sc in first st, *trc in next st, sc in next st, repeat from * around; sl st in beg sc. Cut yarn and fasten.

Finishing: Weave in all loose ends.

 

Makes for a pretty border. I know how you feel about the yarn. I made a top with Microspun that would split now and then. But I managed. Also I cursed Lion Brand Homespun while making a friend Martha's coming home poncho.
