Spring Fling Garden Party -18” doll

 

 

The outfit consists of:

Dress

Hat

tote/purse

Shoes.

 

The items are made with WW yarn in Pink, White, Green and Yellow. Hook most generally used was a 5.5 mm

 

Dress…

 

 

This dress begins by working both sides of a chain; one side is the frilly chains and the other begins the bodice

With yellow…

Chain 24 then chain 6 tightly and join 6 to form button hole. Add another buttonhole or some form of closure as you work the bodice

 

Work (sc, chain 3, skip 2 ch, sc in next)across top of 24 chains…

Work 3sc around the last chain to be in position to work bodice side…

 

Row 1: Sc in next 3, sc V-st in next, 2sc in next 2, sc V-st in next, sc in 8, sc V-st in next, 2sc in next 2, sc V-st in next, sc in next 4.

 

Row 2: dc in sc and dc V-st in V-st around

 

Row 3: sc in dc sc V-st in V-st around

 

Row 4: Dc in sc, dc V-st in V-st around. Break off yellow.

 

Row 5: Attach pink on wrong side and work sc in dc, sc V-st in V-st.

 

Row 6: Separate sleeves by work dc in sc up to and into V-st, ch1, dc in next V-st. continue across separating the next sleeve as well. Brak off Pink

 

Row 7: attach White and work one row of sc across. Break off white.

 

Row 8: attach Green and work dc across

Row 9: work (hdc in dc,2hdc in next) across. Break off Green.

 

Attach Yellow

Row 10: Work dc in hdc across

 

Row 11: Work (sc in 3, 2 sc in next) across. Join to first sc and turn.

All rows are work in the round without turning from now on.

 

Rows 12 – 14: Work dc in dc even.

 

Row 15: Work one row of dc TBL

 

Row 16: work (dc in 2dc. 2 dc in next) around

 

Row 17: repeat Row 15. Break off Yellow

 

Row 18: Attach Pink and work a row of SC even TBL

 

Row 19: work a row of Dc evenly. Break off pink

Attach white

 

Row 20: work a row of sc TBL. Break off white.

Attach Green…

 

Row 21: work of row of dc evenly TBL. Break off.

Tidy ends and add buttons.

 

Hat…

 

Row 1: Begin with an 1/8in elastic tied to fit around your sweetie’s head. And work a bunch of sc into the ring formed. I did too many L

 

Row 2: Dc in 2, 2dc in next around

 

All future rows are worked TBL.

Row 3: Dc in dc around.

 

Row 4: work sc into dc around. Break off White.

 

Row 5 and 6: attach Green (then white) and work sc around. Break off.

 

Attach Yellow… Work scallop row using *sl st, sc, hdc, 2dc in next 3, hdc, sc,* repeat around. May not work out evenly – see what works for you.

 

It might be nice to add some floral elements to frame the face with this hat. Show pics if you do please.

 

 

The Bag/Tote…

 

 

 

I would recommend that you make a bag that suits you and your little ones…

 

I began in a corner with chain 2, 3sc in 2nd ch from hook

Build up more rows increasing by one stitch at the beginning of each row.

 

At some point, work in your other colours and leave yarn dangling for effect.

 

When the bag is as wide as you want it stop increasing on both sides and increase at one side only to create a rectangular shape while keeping your diagonal.

 

 

 

 

When it is as much as you want end at the point shown in the pic and turn (more or less)so that you are working a row of sc along the edge marked. Continue working evenly on this new row until it is wide enough to be the backing of your bag.

 

Sew edges and add a strap.

 

 

Shoes… With tan

 

 

 

Chain 6

 

Round 1: Work sc in heel stitch and HDC around with 5hdc in toe area.

 

Round 2: 2sc in same st as ch, sc around working 2sc in HDC in toe area join and break off.

 

Uppers in Yellow

Row 1: Work hdc in each st of sole making (at least) 1 dec in heel area. Join and ch 1.

 

Row 2: work 5 hdc make 3ch picot, Work dec on either side of centre two stitches. When opposite, 3ch picot, ch4, slst into picot, ch3, slst in 1st ch, hdc to end. Join and break off.
