SnB:HH Fat Bottom Bag CAL

Hello Dears,

I know many of us have either purchased or borrowed the Stitch N Bitch:The Happy Hooker book by Debbie Stoller and have either made or want to make the Fat Bottom Bag! :yes

Since this pattern is very easy (and addicting to make) many of us who have made bags can't just stop at one (as I easily attest to). :eek

So....anyone want in on the FBB CAL?

I have 2 partially done and I want to make at least one in each color of my stash and this is also a fun (and fast!) way to use up stash for those who are also in the Stash-Busting CAL! :cheer

Come on in, the water's great! :yay

And here is the link to put in your lining BEFORE making the handles:

Sorry Jessica I should have done this sooner :blush

Hi, I just bought the book for this purse. Count me in! I have a whole whopping three rows done, but it is for me, you know how it goes, our own stuff is last :lol

I have to admit that I have never used this stitch before and am finding it awkward. I will go through with it on this one, but may go w/hdc on the next one, we'll see.

I just put in my bid on ebay to get a copy of the book.... so many cute FBBs running around here, I'm going to have to give into the peer pressure!!!

Why not, I'll join. I'm actually about halfway finished with one that I started last week. I'm making it in Lion Brand Suede, and so far it is looking really good. You can't see the stitch definition as well, but it feels just wonderful. Once I finish it, I'll just have to sit around and pet it every time I use it. :lol

Jessica: No worry, as long as there are enough of us who are posting and keeping this CAL active time is no matter! :lol

Riohnna: Thanks for being there to :cheer us on!

Helen: It's kinda slow going at first. To tell you the truth, I got tired of the Hhdc and just used plain ol' hdc on 6 of the 7 bags made. Since I was going to line the bags anyway, the Hhdc was just making my progress to slow. Why don't you give it a try?

Melissa: Try buying it on http://www.amazon.com I got mine that's hardback, brand new for $13 and that included shipping!! A whopping 50% off retail! you can get the paperback ones slightly cheaper, but I recommend the hardback since you're going to refer to the book for more fashions to make...Maybe I should buy 2 and have one on display and wear the other one out to my hearts' content? :lol

Mommy: This is a good kind of pressure. The kind that will result in you making things for the last person in your priority list...you!! :lol

BTW, I recommend buying it direct on www.amazon.com because the prices are cheaper than the final bids on eBay and in the time you are waiting for your auction to end you will already have your book. :thumbs

Shadow: Just check it out again or put in on reserve so you get first dibs as soon as the person who has this out has returned it again. My library has online access so I reserve a lot of books this way.

Ok....you talked me into it! It is an interlibrary loan so I have to get it transfered back from another library. It will take awhile.

Ok, I have a question. Since I am waiting for my book to arrive. Can someone that has it tell me what type of yarn it calls for?? I may go yarn shopping tomorrow or Friday and would like to pick up what I need to make this. Not to mention I do have to find some handles also. YEAH!!! I can't wait for my new book to get here.

You could use any WW, i've made 1 with Red Heart and this one is also with Red HEart, i've also seen Lion Brand Suede used for these :)

Thanks Barb! I wanted to make sure it wasn't a specialty yarn. I am going to run over to Hobby Lobby. Get to check out all the pretty colors to play with for this.

The bag is so pretty I may have to make several like Beth has.
