sore middle finger

I love to thread crochet but my middle finger tip gets so sore, any suggestions on how to ease this problem. I tried using a thimble and I do not like the feel of it, I can not control my work with it on, maybe I need a smaller one, any suggestions will be appreciated, currently making a dolllie (I assume) with name in the middle of it. And getting paid for it, YEA!

They make leather thimbles maybe that would be better? Or you could sew a bit of fabric into your own "thimble"?

Which hand? Why would it get sore? The problem I have is at the top of the middle finger where the thread slides across, makes a dent!

i think you would benefit from a Gydizt... its made for that purpose.. it guides the htread as you use it ..

Oh, that thing's neat-looking (I found an ebay store that sells them: stores.ebay.com/MECM-croc...DZIT-Store ) I've been just wrapping 1/4" bandage tape around my finger when yarn starts making a big dent in my finger, but I can't really do that with thread since it tries to slide under the edge of the tape and gets all gummy.

I looked at that gadjet thingy, assume it slip over finger, but it looks to be for the thread guide. That is not my problem, the tip of my middle finger gets sore from pushing the hook into it, which sits just behind each stitch (my crontrol fingeras I call it. And this thing does not look like it would protect my finger tip (like a thimble would). So any other suggestions would be appreciated.
