I feel stupid asking this but in looking at the pattern it states to start with a magic loop, what is that?

Don't feel stupid - it's ....it's starting by wrapping the yarn around your finger instead of making a chain and joining for a loop. The pattern will work fine with a traditional start - chain 4 join and work in the loop, but with a magick look you have less of a hole in the crown.

I like that pattern. Thanks for sharing it! Lately, I've been looking for baby hat patterns; I'm trying to make enough hats to give to the local hospital. I'm shooting for 20 per month, but I don't always make it.

Tracie - this hat works up super fast. We were out driving today, and I made those 4 in no time. Of course baby hats are rather small, but it's an almost mindless pattern. The only part that requires much attention is the very last row.
