advice please!

Ive made a large tote bag with 100% wool, I would like to felt it, would you recommend I put it on a 40% and maybe have to wash it twice or just go for broke and stick it straight in on 60% and see what happens? Ive only felted small items before and this one is making me nervous!

Id like to make a good job of it! so any advice is appreciated! thanks.

To be honest with you I don't know what you are talking about when you are saying 40% and 60%.

 

I put it in my top load washer and let it run for about 15 min then I start checking it. I let it continue till it reaches the look I want.

 

Is your washer a front load that has a timer on it????
