Mad Tea Party Tote

A tote for tea-lovers everywhere! (Images are clickable for enlargement).

 

 

Eye-popping, isn't it?

 

I used a size H long afghan hook. Simply Soft in dark navy with bits of Red Heart in bold colors and the purple is that Wiggles yarn.

 

I made it from left to right in one long piece starting just before the teapot and working around through the vertical stripes in back. You can see the seam where I joined the thing together along the left side of the teapot.

 

 

A view or the inside. No lining, (I really can't sew to save my life). The stitches are nice and tight with the H hook so I think all things would stay put inside the bag very nicely.

 

 

I made a piece to close over the bag and sewed a teapot shaped button to the striped side to button it shut.

 

The handle is a "tube" I crocheted and stuffed with two plastic shopping bags. (Recycling! Woohoo!) It is soft and comfortable and strong.

Click on the word "new" at the top. On the next page you'll see the graph with the teapot all in pink. I changed one of the swirls so it could be another swirl and not connected to a different one and so mine has a center to it. Hope that made sense.
