Sorry that no one answered you....I'm not sure what kind of tips you are looking for. You said you loved how it turned out....that's all that matters right?

 

As for how it looks...I think it's great. If you want to lose more stitch definition...then by all means throw it in the wash. It will felt beautifuly. I use Paton's wool for most of my felting projects and never have a problem with it.
