Divine sweater

Here's what I've been working on since Saturday. I finished it last night, but needed new batteries in my camera, so I had to wait to post this. LOL! I used Patons Divine in Night Sky and Bernat Boa in Cardinal. I have to go buy some buttons for it tomorrow, and should I not be able to find buttons that really turn my crank for this, I guess I'll crochet some with wire and just the right shade of red beads!!!

This is the child's sweater from Annie's Attic Easy Tunisian Weekend Sweaters booklet. I didn't like the idea of using the LB Watercolors as the pattern called for, and since I had 4 skiens of the Divine already, I figured it would make an even switch. The sweater is a child's size 6, and it certainly fits my DD! (Not like my last attempt at a sweater for her!!!)

This was supposed to be a Christmas gift for my daughter, but she saw me working on it when I thought she was napping...

It is lovely. My grandma is making me a sweater out of Divine for christmas. It is a knit one from Mary Maxim and she knits ALOT better than me.

I'll have to look for that book.

Thank you all for your kind words. I just love this sweater! I'm jealous of the fact that my daughter gets it and not me... I can just see her doing this along with the happy dance!

I wanted to add, that for the child's size six, this took less than three skiens of the Divine, and just over one of the Boa. I will be making another one for my niece for Christmas, but more than likely will choose a different color. (The dark color was hard to work with even in Tunisian, however a lot easier to work up than traditional crochet.) I'm just glad that Michael's has the Divine on sale this week, and I will be running across town after work tomorrow to go pick some more up.

As I said before, I followed the pattern in the booklet exactly, other than switching out what yarns to use. (Instead of the Boa, the pattern calls for Fun Fur for the trim.) I did use the nubby side as the right side (which as you're working it up is actually the wrong side.) It makes look a lot more fluffy that way!

Ooooo. That is fabulous. Sure doesn't look like a kiddy sweater to me. There's another one I'd like for myself. Now if I could just lose 100 pounds and 50 years, I'd be in like Flynn.

so pretty, and looks so soft! Love the trim!

What size hook did you use for that? All of your daughter's friends will want one, too!

Ok, I'm going to try to answer everyone's questions at once...

Rachel-- I just got home from Michael's, which is the only place locally that I can get the Divine. They have a light blue and a darker blue, but I wouldn't call the darker blue "navy." It's just blue! I went ahead and bought the darker blue for the sweater that I'm doing for my niece. Stay tuned since I will post a pic when that one is done as well.

booklvr-- This didn't take me long at all. I started it on Saturday afternoon and would have finished it on Sunday, except for the fact that I just had to take a nap Sunday afternoon, which cut into my crochet time. LOL! This one definitely will work up over a weekend, if you've got the afternoons to work on it.

Deb (zoezzoo)-- The hooks used for this were the Easy Tunisian sizes N and P for the actual sweater, and a regular H hook for the trim.

I do have an adult sweater started from this same booklet, just have put it on hold due to trying to get all my Christmas projects out of the way. Sometimes I wonder how I do it! I need about 4 more hours added to a day as it is!!!
