I have no idea how to post photos, and if I did, I couldn't 'cause I don't have a camera, so could someone please make the bluebird and post his picture as soon as possible? Thanks.

READ THROUGH PATTERN FIRST!

Please do not sell this pattern. You may sell the made bluebird itself, for charity or from a stall by the side of the road, lol, but please don't sell it commercially. Thanks.

4.50mm crochet hook (or size 7), double knitting yarn in light blue, black and orange, yarn needle for embroidery and assembly, stuffing and a stitch marker.

Bluebird is made with spiral technique, (except for tail feathers) use a stitch marker to mark the start of each round. Single crochet used throughout.

Body

R1 To start use the adjustable ring technique and sc 12 into it.

R2 Sc in every sc of previous round.

R3 2sc in every sc of previous round.

R4 Sc in every sc of previous round.

R5 Repeat R4

R6-R14 Repeat R4.

Finish off, leaving long tail for sewing base to body later.

Base

R1 To start use adjustable ring technique and sc 12 into it.

R2 Sc in every sc of previous round.

R3 2sc in every sc of previous round.

R4 Sc in every sc of previous round.

Finish off, weaving in end.

Tail Feathers

Ch 11, sc in 2nd ch from hook, and in each til end of row, increasing and decreasing tension so it has a tapered look. Like this: \ / Sort of.

Sc in each to end, remembering turning ch, and not forgetting to change the tension, ranging it from loose to tight crochet. If the sc under the one you are working is loose, make the sc you are working loose too. If the sc under the one you are working is tight, make the one you are working tight too.(I just have to explain several times to make sure you get it. The finished tail should be like this: \ / Okay? Post further down if you need help understanding that. :blush

Do as many rows as you need, to however wide you want your bluebird's tail to be, always remembering to range the tension from loose to tight, or from tight to loose.

Embroidery

Embroider the face as follows: Eyes are vertical black lines, beak is a horizontal orange line. (You may want to do the beak line several times, depending on how thin your orange wool is) Try to place the beak somewhat in the middle and down from the eyes. Does that make sense?:think

Assembly

Place the base right side down on a flat surface. Position the bluebird's body on it, so that it is not bumpy, as the base and body should fit together perfectly. Thread your yarn needle with the sewing yarn left hanging from the body. Go through the tops of your crochet stitches with whipstitch (you may have to experiment with which ones to go through). Leave about 8 stitches unsewn and stuff, but not too firmly as it does need to sit upright. Sew up the remaining 8 stitches. Go around the bluebird again, going through your stitching, and when you get to the back, position the tail feathers in the right place (use you eye to judge this one) and sew through the narrow end.

I hope you ( or the person receiving it ) enjoys your bluebird. :yarn:yay:yarn

Please tell me if you encounter a problem with this pattern as I've only been crocheting for less than a month, lol, and this is my first pattern. This pattern takes like 15 minutes, and if you put a weight in the bottom of the bluebird it can be a paperweight! Bluebird can also be a black, green, purple, grey, brown, whatever coloured bird.
