Fort Lauderdale Meet and Greet?

Charm and I were PMing each other - we both live in the Fort Lauderdale area and thought it would be fun to meet and "Hook" together. I know that there are some other local members around, so if any of you would be intersted, we can try to find a time and place that is convenient for everyone - just to say hi, have a cup of coffee and crochet together. :)

Ktonratola - Deerfield Beach is maybe a half hour from Fort Lauderdale - maybe a bit less.

Joanne - will you be her the week of Feb 19?

If that works for everyone, we can try to do something then. It would be fun!!

Great!

Well there hasn't been much more activity here, but I think we have enough interest to try! And I think the week of the 19th is perfect because we'll have some people visiting. I am not available over that weekend (23rd - 25th) - my first wedding anniversary is Feb 26 and we will be celebrating over the weekend, but perhaps we can meet one evening?

If not, I can probably meet up earlier in the day on Sat or Sunday.

What is good for everyone? Evening or weekend?

Charm do you have any ideas where we can meet. During the day on a weekend, it might be hard to find a coffee shop that won't be annoyed with us. If we pick a day when the weather is nice we could meet at the Borders Bookstore on Sunrise and sit on the patio. We could get coffee or snacks and if we sit outside we wouldn't bother anyone.

I was thinking about Markham park but i gave them a call and they want $75 for a gazeebo thing plus park entrance per person .. seems too high to me.

BUT we could always use the park with out a gazeebo.

Im gonna make a few phone calls today and see what i can find.

Ok how does Easterlin park sound?

its only $2 a person to get in, and we would get picnic tables in the shade..

its right off 95 in oakland park so its easy to find.

is that ok? or does the whole park thing not work for everyone?

let me know :)
