Hi!

Here's a shawl I concocted on my own. I submitted it to the crochet calender Anyway, the first one is made with really yummy yarn. Trendsetter Dune, Noro Silk Garden and Noro Blossom.

My sister gave me the Dune for Christmas, something that is normally out of my price range I wanted something nice to go with it so got the Noros.

Here's a link to a stitch close up

And here's another one done in some cotton/acrylic boucle I got on Ebay

Green Shawl

I put the pattern under original patterns

Do you realize what you've done to me?! I was happily crocheting along, making the easy peasy poncho for a friend, and you just HAD to post an awesome new pattern. So I racked my brain as to what yarns would be good with this pattern and I remembered my solo skein of homespun baroque (only skein left at walmart but I couldnt leave without it! I love purple :)h ) and a skein of red heart symphony in magenta. So I got to work using both yarns for this shawl - and totally neglecting the easy peasy poncho :loco Im perfectly aware I wont have enough baroque for even half the shawl, but I wont be able to go back to the poncho until all the homespun is gone for this one and will wait somewhat patiently for walmart to restock it :ha

WOW!!!! Awesome job designing that Holly!!! And I know what you mean about the Dune. I've touched it in my lys and it's too steep for me to buy but one and what you gonna do with just one??? I bet you really enjoyed working with the Noro too!!! It's beautiful, gonna have to add it to my must make list!!

Thanks gang!! <img border=0 src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/blushb.gif" />

I'm not really a designer, but I couldn't find a pattern that I liked for this yarn. I really wanted a center out shawl, but one that I didn't have to do a lot of counting for <img border=0 src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/toothygrin.gif" /> What I like about center-outs is that any striping is in a v rather than horozontally.

Chelle, I bet it will be so cozy in the homespun!!! I love Barouque! Please show pics when you are done!

Julie, the Noro Silk Garden is to die for. I used color #65. The way the colors shift and stripe... <img border=0 src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/rowofhearts.gif" /> I got a great price on it <a href="http://www.woolneedlework.com/" target="_new">here</a> The Blossom was...interesting.

It looks like threads from a fabric store cutting counter was spun with bright colors of dryer lint. I was a little put off when I saw it on the skein, but it worked with the shawl perfectly.

It's a pretty big shawl too. I'm 5' 10", the point comes down to the back of my knees.
