He has done that before hehe I got some pics of it and had posted it somewhere here on the boards. It worked well for a few days but the "magic" wore off and it doesn't keep his attention very long anymore :D

I haven't done it in a couple weeks, though. Maybe I'll give it to him again and see if it works =)

LOL Maybe he will again.

Judianne. Love those colors.

:cheer Glad you finally got your book Diane!!

Mitz, Ahhhhhh your little one is so cute, your afghan is looking good!:yay

I love everyones colors, they really fall together once you start getting the squares worked on! I like my colors now, will have to post a picture, but.......

:( :( I am wondering if anyone else is having my problem??? I find my star and squares pucker. Does this go away or do I need to rip out and crochet looser?? :eek I am putting the sc row on with MC befor you work the rows of the MC.

Hope this makes sence and someone can answer and help me out.......

Hmm I did not experience any puckering on either the square or the star..but I think maybe I was crocheting a little bit loose.

I don't think I quite understand what you are saying about putting the sc row on with MC before working rows of MC. Do you mean the border on 2 sides of the squares on 8 of them before joining it to the center star?

I'm nearly done with the center portion of the star - had trouble with row 6, but figured it out, frogged row 8 because I dropped a stitch...but otherwise this is fun:P I'm excited about adding the colors to the rest of the star!

So far my star is laying flat - I looked at the recommended hook size on the skein of yarn and went up one from that (J for this part, with an I for the other yarn) I never even considered using a "G" as mentioned in the book - I crochet way too tight for that.:hook

Happy hooking, everyone!:yay

Hi Metz,

No,I mean when you have the star done and the blocks added you use the MC and sc around. I was hopeing that would help.........but it didn't.

I might be crocheting too tight! :thair I hate to think I have to rip out!!

I have been crocheting thread teddy bears too long, it took me a while to tighten up tight tight for them, now I will have to retrain I guess..:(

You're welcome, Peni. On the yarn it recommends a hook size...do like I did - one size bigger than that...

Good luck:hook

Hi Judi, I used to do that allot when I did afghans, but it has been a while, and I guess I forgot:think :think:rofl OUCH what a time to remember!

Ohh I understand where you are talking about now, peni. I'm afraid it might be because of crocheting too tight, I am not sure. Maybe it will work itself out? I am using an H hook instead of the G because I crochet tight (I think) but once I've been working a while I think I tend to crochet looser so...I dunno.

I'm sorry I am not much help =/ I would hate to think that you need to rip anything out also :( That would suck to have to do that. Is it really bad/noticeable? I'd like to see pics of it maybe we can help you decide if it needs to be frogged or if it looks okay? Not sure if we will be able to see that from just pictures but, maybe.

Kwoolls - I can't wait to see what yours looks like with those colors, I love greens =)

Actually Mitz it is the corner of my blocks where it puckers......the corner that is attached to the star. the point part of the corner.....I am sure I will need to go back to there and I will definately use a larget hook to join. I am afraid there is no fix it solution:no :no It is ok though as I rather fix it now as to toss it when it is done cause I don't like it.:eek :eek

And you have been a great help. I thank you and Judi for helping.

I will snap a picture, and show you what I am talking about. If it can help anyone from making the same mistake....

Too, funny, I couldn't find my "G" hook. The cat ( I swear ) did something with it. I left it on the kitchen table after crocheting the pink and purple squares thursday night. and friday morning it was gone. I have got down on hands and knees searching for it, and finally decided to give up and just go with the "H" hook. I haven't had the normal puckering after switching from string to yarn. I was amazed and now I know why. Thanks ladys for explaining it to me. Had another busy day at work, and everyone has now done to bed. So I will listen the the President address the State of the Union, and crochet a bit. Loved the colors you choose Kwools. Blondie glad you decided to join in, I am sure your friend will love the afghan no matter what color you choose to make it in.

Peni - I have a bit of what you're talking about. My square "waves" a bit right where it joins the inner corner of the star. I'm not too worried about it at this point, as I know (1) the afghan is big, and some of that will be pulled out by weight. This often happens with afghans. (2) When you wash and dry acrylic yarn, especially in afghans, it gets un-wonky. (that's what it's called when your yarn does that = "wonky") I have had scary-looking puckers on my afghans that smoothed right out. Post a pic before frogging, and I'll let you know if I've seen worse! LOL!

Not feeling up to crocheting right now (PMS, I think). Feeling more like a bath and then bed. Maybe just bed, who knows. I finished my brown stashghan, and it's already in the mail to its recipient. I have the borders made on the squares of my daisyghan for the most part - a couple more, I think. Then to join those and sew them on, start a border on the afghan, etc. THEN I'll be back to the BS. Never rush these things, right?

See y'all in the AM.

Hi Krystal, Ok I will post a picture first. I was thinking about just ripping it out and being done, but decided to not touch it tonight. I will take picture tomorrow and post and wait to hear what you all think.........

Many many thanks to all! :hug

I wonder what will happen if I switch to an "H" hook now?? If I don't frog??:think

Hi Diane,

OoooHhhhhhhhhhh I love to yarn shop :devil :devil

Can't wait to see your colors. I am not doing anymore on mine till I post a picture and get some feed back. I am too much a perfectionist...:( :( I couldn't stand it if these puckers didn't go away.

And larger hook it will for sure be...............:hook

I am waffling on the yarn that I want. Terrible thing. I usually know what I want when it comes to yarn!LOL

Show us pictures. I am sure that you are just being a bit critical of yourself and that everything is fine.
