Lady -

I am with your hubby.. That Royal isn't quite right. :(

What is that darker color there? the solid? Is that black? If it's not Windsor, you might want to look at Windsor instead of the royal. I'm using windsor and country blue and they aren't "bright" like the royal is.

Won't be getting to this ghan today, either. More DAISIES! :cheer

Lady, blues are very hard to match - put together in the pic, I agree with hubby, too - the royal is a bit on the bright side for the other blues...

Not sure what to suggest, though, since I, myself, am color-challenged:P

Gee, I don't FEEL like I'm pushing up daisies! Wouldn't I feel a little better (or worse?!?!?) :eek My crochet arm is no longer sore - a good night's rest has helped it to recover. Ready for another day! Today's a little busier than yesterday, so not sure how much time I will have. I have 12 more squares to border, and 3 squares to me, then to sew them all together and decide on an afghan border. Now that I've started the stashbusters game, I'm pretty sure I'll find a bright color skein I've got in my stash for a border! :lol

I'm thinking of REALLy messing with the colors of the BS afghan and see if I can just manage with 2 variegateds and not have that yellow in there. I'll have to see how it goes. I love the design, so I'm giving myself license to mess with the colors! LOL!

Got to go back and look at the layout, see how much tinkering I can do!

Finally got started on my Blue star. I have been away for a while and was so happy to finally be home and get back to a normal life. So I have 5 blocks completed and I am loving the way the greens come together, but I am worried about doing the center star. It seems so complicated.:think

Anyway while I was gone I started 2 ponchos, bought 2 more books and yarn for another project. Couldn't stuff it all in my suitcase and now there is yarn everywhere. I guess I have advanced to the Crochet Obsession stage.:manyheart

Hi Everyone,

I am back from my little weekend trip with DH and I am exhausted. I got very little done. Started to make one square friday but decided the pink wasn't going to work in place of the white, so I did manage to go to AC Moore before we left and bought a couple of skeins of white. It is more contraxting with the bilberry blue that is really purple. Got to love those internet pictures. Funny how what I orginally ordered was supoose to be royal blue, navy blue, white, pink and amethyst, turns into White, Garnet, Pink, Dark purple and amethyst. Okay so three out of five is good, Right???

Diane~ It might not have the contrast with mostly pink, and a little blue. I ran into that all ready when the online place I ordered from had yarn on backward. I think you may want to put a third color. But hey that is just me. You are doing what I tryed at first, only without white. The amethyst pic looked pink with a touch of blue to it. It didn't come that way. I will post pictures of my yarn tomorrow when I have a camera.

Diane - I really like those colors together. I think it will be great =) I wish you'd get your book soon! lol

Lady - I agree that blue might be a little bright. I am not wholly familiar w/ redheart colors though to give suggestions. I am sure what these ladies have suggested would be good.

Donna - :cheer Glad you got your book!!

Grammy - Welcome =) The center isn't too bad, if you need any help just ask! We can try and help you through it.

Krystal - Crochet marathon sessions hurt lol glad to hear your arm is feeling better. I also got your pattern a few weeks ago and shamefully. I have not tried the pattern yet. I am going to work on a square to send to you today or tomorrow, I promise!!

smiley - Jump in!! I think you will enjoy it =)

kwoolls - welcome =) let us know what colors you decide on.

Dianne - Wedgewood, Windsor and Country Rose will be fine, but claret is a burgundy and won't work in there. I would go with country blue instead. I've never used Rose Pink, so can't help there.

Dianne - I agree with Krystal the claret wont work. Did you go to Hobbylobby and have a look at some colours.

It is very frustrating to try and get a few colors together let alone 5. I know i had trouble with mine until I settled on the light brown.

Grammy - welcome to the blue star cal. Dont worry about the centre star its quite easy once you get started.

Tracey - welcome back did you have a nice trip. where did you go.

Hey Wendy~ Did I mention that I really like the light brown you had to match the other four colors. We went down to our usual gambling casino in AC. And before anyone thinks this, we are not addicted gamblers. Just after working six days a week for close to sixteen years, Taking care of MIL and FIL for seven of those years, my DH and I realized that we were working though all our years and our children were getting bigger. We were missing it. So we started taking weekend trips once a month to different places, and a week during the year with the kids some place far away like Virginia, or Texas. Well last year the kids then 18 and 16 at the time, said, We don't want to do this anymore. Well, DH and I still wanted our time away from work once a month. So we decided to go down to Atlantic City. We get free rooms through Bally's and Tropicana, gamble a little, see shows and do a lot of walking, but mainly we spend 48 hrs together in a non work environment. We have a rule not to discuss work, but our kids and our time together there. You have no idea of how difficult this is. But we do get to enjoy each others company while we can. This month we went down twice beecause of a mix up. We aren't going back till the end of February. Which kindof makes me happy, I need a vacation to catch up with my sleep. That place is always going, and when you are having fun, you kindof forget to look at the clock. I just got up from a much needed nap, and DH is still sleeping, so I am going to crochet in peace and quiet for a bit before I decide if I should wake him. Tomorrow is a work day after all.

When I went back to look at it again, I took the Claret out and thought maybe Soft White, I had not thought of the country blue. I am sure that will be loverly. I decided that it would be way to much to order and have it shipped so, I will wait till I can get into town and get the yarn. I am thinking that you are right though. The Wedgewood, Windsor and Country Rose would be good. I have used Rose pink and Country Rose in an afghan together before and they were very nice together. I am not sure how much contrast I am needing. I really need my book.

OK, I got a replacement yarn for the Royal with my husbands help. Whatcha think of the Windsor instead? It's not a 100% perfect match. I suspect the Dark Country Blue would be and I can't find that anywhere.

My only concern with the colours is that there is no difference between them. ..they will just all fade together. now if that is what you want to happen, well there yah go. :think:hug

Hi Lady's~ I need your help, before I go on. I am going to atempt to post two pictures here that I took on my cell phone and emailed to myself, so this may or maynot work. What I need to know is which looks better together, or should I just go to AC Moore tomorrow and try to find a varigated to match what I have. I show some on Friday when I stopped in to get the white yarn.

Tracey. Just got a sign in page also.

Donna. I don't know. I am a very visual person and need to have them in my hands to see them. I have been trying to put colors together from a color page at discount yarns. Just can't do it with that small of a pic. If you are going to a store to get yarn, do like I do and put them all together in a row and see how it looks. I don't have any other suggestion. I am sorry.
