budgie_bat Posted December 27, 2006 Hey All, Would anyone be interested in another Amigurumi CAL? (I hadn't joined when you did the last one, and I'd just love to do one). If so, please let me know if you're interested, either through a post here, or a PM, and we'll work out which pattern/s to do. Thanks

Cookie Hooker Posted December 27, 2006 I would love to do this... count me in. I want to do a Cat or tiger for my ds (16 months)
busy-bee-lmt Posted December 27, 2006 These are truly wonderful! I especially like the inchworm. I might try making that for my grandson. I actually bought some wriggly eyes the other day, but I've got an awful lot of projects going right now. We'll see. I admire those of you who can make up patterns, I haven't had the nerve to try that. I can follow a pattern (usually), but creating one? I don't know, that seems like a form of magic. sammimag Posted December 27, 2006 I want to participate but I am not sure when I will start. I want to make an Amineko. It's a free Japanese pattern but the designers has put up a translated pattern here. You can find pictures here. I've wanted to make one of these ever since discovering amigurumi. I have a free pattern you can use here. The pattern is also divided into a 3 week CAL.
minwifeof4boys Posted December 27, 2006 I'm thinking Samantha's purple puppy has my name all over it!
EmEyeAaay Posted December 27, 2006 Yay! I'm in! I've done two baby dolls for my 7 month old using a pattern from www.anapaulaoli.etsy.com and I modified the one from www.crochetme.com, then I did a sumo for my dad, and a whale for my mom, a turtle for my sister, and a penguin for my other sister! I love them! I bought a bunch of patterns off of etsy, they also have some at www.roxycraft.com and the most amazing examples at www.gourmetamigurumi.com, there's also a blog with tons of examples at www.amigurumi-along.blogspot.com but it's closing for new posts on 12/31, though it'll stick around so you can see the archived posts for your viewing pleasure. You can also do a search on www.craftster.org, I think they just recently had an amigurumi competition. There's another link that has a lot of information on amigurumi that I can't remember when I do I'll post it for you. I bought probably too many patterns but now I'm getting to where I'm able to modify and create my own! pretty exciting! Oh, and here's somewhere else to see examples and get inspired, I think there are a couple of free patterns too, http://huangfamily.com/craftingjapanese/archives/amigurumi/, and then last but not least http://community.livejournal.com/weloveamigurumi/ if that hasn't been listed already. sammimag Posted December 27, 2006 Here's another link for free patterns http://del.icio.us/fiberstar/amigurumi . Oh my! Those are links to my old blog! Not all of the ones I made are free patterns. Some of the dolls I made using How to Crochet Adorable Amigurumi by Carolyn Christmas Savage. I have not tested my flower doll yet so if you try it let me know if you are confused at all. I never wrote up a pattern for the little neopet ami.
budgie_bat Posted December 27, 2006 Well, it looks like we've got some interest in this CAL. So what do you all want to do? It seems most of you want to make a cat (Amineko). I've made a few of these and even slightly modified it into a dog for a dog loving friend, so I don't mind doing it again, or doing something else. What do you guys want to do ? Some CAL's do specific things but often CAL's are somewhat open ended. So everyone who participates can do any pattern they want, then share it here, get support when they are confused about a pattern, or just some encouragement to finish. I find that CALs' are helpful as a reminder to work on my projects. When I read others progress then it reminds me to get out my supplies or do the next step. So I am hoping it's more of an open ended CAL. Everyone can make whatever amigurumi they want
budgie_bat Posted December 27, 2006 Sounds good to me! Can I make a request/suggetion? That this include our original designs. Cause i'm working on alot of my own stuff at the moment, trying to get up a few that i can sell, so that'd be just great if we could do that.
nela42575 Posted December 27, 2006 I'm in. This will be my first CAL & my first amigurumi. Now I just have to choose one. There are too many cute ones out there. I think I may end up buying some of the patterns from www.roxycraft.com. Nora
