sampler-style afghan

Winter is here at last, and it's time to take the afghans out of the cupboard in which they spend most of the year.This one is like a sampler because I tried to use as many different patterns as I could. I keep it on my sofa, but found it easier to photograph it on my bed. Until today, I had no idea what a difficult job photographing an afghan is.

Wow, now thats a sampler! I know what you mean about how hard it is to photograph afghans. You can never get it in in one shot and I can never stand high enough on a ladder to get the afghan at a good angle.

Roli, no, it's not in thread, it's acrylic. I used a 4 mm hook, so that should give you an idea of the thickness of the yarn.

i love samplers. this one was awesome. no one even asked what all her different pattern sources were...I am interested in knowing more about this if the creator is still around here. i think this afghan proves that 4mm is a better choice for lacy stuff, imo.

There is no excuse for hiding away such a beauty just because there are a few too many degrees of temperature. My afghans (none as impressive as that) are on display the year around. And I live in San Antonio, where afghans are not really needed at all.
