Blanket problems?

Alrighty! I'm making a blanket, no pattern followed, made it up on my own....this is my very first thing I crocheted and have a question. I'm using a very simple stitch (sc) because I just started doing this.....but my blanket at the ends are curling up, I'm keeping the tension the same throughout the rows and am being nice and loose (but not too loosed). Will this problem work itself out once I get more and more rows? This actually is going to be a huge blanket and maybe that is the problem. Not sure how many rows I have done right now, but I'm still a very very long way off!

Can you tell us a little more about your pattern and what you mean by the ends curling up? Do you mean the corner, or the sides, or the whole foundation row? Lots of things could be causing this.
