What's a good yarn to use for a man scarf?

A male friend of mine wants me to make him a scarf, but I'm not sure which yarns translate into masculinity very well.

Dark wool is always nice, and I think that TLC or some major brank makes a "tweed" yarn that looks very nice and masculine (in my eyes)

 

Then there's always camoflauge yarn

I used a Bernat Denim Heather for a scarf for my uncle and it is a wonderful yarn and very manly in an understated way.

I like Red Hearts Aran Fleck, it is a toned down cream color with black, grey and brown "flecks". They actually come out if you pull them. It's neat.

I made my husband's in black and red Red Heart.

I'm making my nephews' in black and grey Simply Soft.

I think suede would be nice, or at least a few rows of it here and there.

I'm making my brother a grey and cranberry scarf in this pattern: Ridged Hat and Scarf, but I'm just using regular Lion Brand Wool-Ease (not the thick and chunky), and it's coming out fine.

I also used the Lion Brand Wool-Ease for my nephew and BIL. Both scarves came out wonderful.

I just made my husband a scarf out of homespun using their one skein scarf pattern. I think with homespun as long as you stick to earthy tones, you're in pretty good shape for guys.

I also noticed Caron Simply Soft now comes in a range of tweed colors, and some of them are perfect for guys!
