Double-Sided Crochet Pattern

8 posts in this topic

I was at a storytime at our library and talked to a woman who was crocheting a baby blanket where you switch colors every row so that it turns into a double sided blanket. She said she got the pattern online. It is not a cro-hook pattern, and that is what I am finding as I search for it online. Does anyone know what I am talking about and where I can find such a thing? Thanks!

There was a thread where we discussed a way to do that so that you are crocheting into the front loop with one colour and into the back loop plus the 2nd color stitch so that the rows are joined as you go.

That thread (cleeking) is here. there were a couple of ideas on that one.

Sandi Marshall at About dot com also has a pattern (s) for a two coloured square but I can't find the one right now.

Here is a possible as well

This one gives two different ways of doing it, one through the front loop and the other through the back loop. It also has some good illustrations.

I started one for my daughter using the crochet.about link that darski gave. I used two different colors of Homespun because she wanted something really warm. I got through one skein of each color and haven't touched it for a year. It's really easy once you get going, but the fact that it takes twice as long is a little daunting. :eek

I am going to try some of those ideas. I don't think this will be for the baby shower I was intending... I guess it all depends on how it goes.

I didn't know you were looking for the reversible shells pattern. I thought you wanted the solid sides. Here are some others done with reversible shells.

They're very similar and look almost the same when made up.

Krystal16 made a beautiful one of these with white on one side and a pastel rainbow on the other.
