There's a local mall nearby that dh, dd and I went to yesterday. We walked into one of those annual places--you know, those stores that are only open a few weeks during the holidays? Anyway, they had these adorable snowmen there! Basically, the bodies were a teardrop styrofoam form, the belly being the largest part, kinda like a giant light bulb. They were about 12" tall, and the body was covered in perhaps a satin or velveteen (there were a couple different types). Well, here's the exciting part! The head, the arms, hats, and scarves were all crocheted! And, the bodies were decorated like we would crochet outside a glass bulb, in the Victorian Lacy style, with perlescent thread and added beads and crystals! To top it all off, they were selling for $42.95! (Actually, by this point, they were 1/2 off, and selling for $26.50, but you get the drift!) This gave me some pretty cool ideas for next year!!
