Different Between These Three

Recommended Posts

I"ve often wondered the same thing myself. Too me, they are all the same. Could be just a difference in sizes, or the area where a person lives. Like: Grinders, Hogies, Subs. All the same thing - just the area of the country.

Blanket - A large piece of woven material used as a covering for warmth, especially on a bed.

Afghan - A coverlet or shawl of wool, knitted or crocheted in colorful geometric designs.

Throw - A light coverlet, such as an afghan. A scarf or shawl.

Those are "official" definitions.

To me, a blanket is something that I use when I am in bed. An afghan is something that I use on the couch. A throw is something I use when I am in a chair.

Funny!

If it's knit or crocheted, I don't think of it as a blanket.

Crochet or knit is an afghan. A throw is a small afghan. Unless either of them are comfortghans, or snuggleghans, or happyghans or any other name we make up. :)
