what does ps mean?

Ch 3 (counts as first dc). Work into ring: dc ch 2. 4 ps. Sl st to join.

 

That's my line in the pattern and I basically mostly get everything else but I've never seen ps before... unless it means passes? I really this pattern so

Oh my gosh. There's somethign to be said for looking at things for the 10th time. Apperntly it meant pattern stitch.

 

Note: Pattern stitch (ps) is [2dc ch2]

Thanks anyway even if it was just me totally misreading. I didn't think the picture looked like it had any special stitched except for a double stitch!
