christmas blanket

I need to do a really quick blanket for my step FIL for Christmas and was wondering what people think might be the quickest. I dont want to do a granny square one, but was contemplating either the 63 squares from the book or maybe a ripple. What do you think would be quicker or does anyone know of one that would work up supper quick. I hope to finish way before Christmas actually in a few weeks at the most. I have plenty of time of my hands and I am a realtively quick crocheter:devil

I've done a couple of ripples and think they work up pretty quickly. I'm not fond of joining my grannies so it seems to take longer than just working up a ripple. This is my favorite pattern - quick and easy. http://home.att.net/~susanBinKC/patterns/ripple.html

Yes I have done a few ripple blankets, and they do work up fast. Also easy to do.

Have you tried crochet pattern central? or even free patterns.com?

 

They have quite a few patterns for afghans. You may find one you like.

How about a round one? I found the pattern for one here on the Ville, it's not a ripple, just plain round.

Did you consider broom stick lace ...It's the quickest thing I know....

Q-hook and 3 strands go VERY quickly! I whipped out 2 in just a couple of weeks.
