Entrelac

Recommended Posts

Now that Kim has me turned on to tunisian crochet again, I have really been getting into it. I decided to purchase a book (booklet?) on Etrelac that I saw at Annie's Attic. Now I cannot fiind it anywhere. Is it OOP now or just sold out?

These sites are so inspiring for Entrelac!!! (scroll down some)

That baby blanket is so awesome!

This is New to Me! On this site, the afghans are done with larger entrelac squares (10x10) and color changes. (See Rough Rider, Celtic Hearts, and Cobra.) She says that doing each square at a time keeps it from having 30 or 40 bobbins at once. Which makes it more controllable. However, there are more ends to hide. I had never seen this done before.

Eva,

Your instructions are wonderful. You did a great job with it. I played with it yesterday. I do have one question...I think I am doing it right.:think

Normally on the return row of the tunisian stitch, you chain one and then yo and pull through two loops the rest of the way across. However, with the entrelac diamonds, you are picking up the chain or other block as you are returning (which picks the stitch up higher like the chain one would do). So do you skip the chain on all of the returns? (I did as I experimented witih it, and it seems to look okay.)

I am still interested in the Entrelac book though, because I would like to see how to do the "half triangles" for the edges and the square intrelac designs too.
