I have a couple on my website: http://www.hometown.aol.com/tepperleen/page3.html

Neither are terribly complicated. You might also want to look at the hat-a-long

You also might want to look here at this thread. Lot's of hat patterns listed here: http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=19676

Here's an awesome tutorial on crocheting in the round which is how most hats are made: http://barney.gonzaga.edu/~aburton/crochrnd.html

GREAT! Thanks Tepper.

I have one question on the second link you sent...it says do not joint rounds? what does that mean? Do I just keep going around or do I turn without slip stitching into the first stitch (If thats the case how does the hat ever become joined?):think

when crocheting in the round, you can either join at the end of the rounds (which is usually visible) or just continue to go around in a spiral. In that pattern you will continue to go around in a spiral, until round 15, where you will join at the end of the round (and the following rounds). There is no turning in this pattern.

Do not join...means you work around without slip stitch together. You work in continueous rounds.

Here are two links that are excellent tutorials with pictures and exact instructions. They might help...:manyheart

Tepper you've got competition...well not exactly....I took the conglomerate of advice from this thread...and am almost finished with a hat I am very pleased with that looks NOTHING like what anybody sent me. But I gathered a concept by starting with a pattern and understanding the increase and decrease for a hat...and...well...THANK YOU! I think I'm going to make alot of hats!
