I have 3 more 6" to get into the mail. I've been holding off because I wanted to make more, but I'm going to mail them tomorrow. If I can do more, I'll send them later, but I'm stretched a bit thin now. Too bad it doesn't show in my hips! :lol

Yesterday I emailed the church that Jimmie Lu said was coordinating gifts for the Amish community. So far I haven't heard back. I'll keep you informed of what happens.

Today I started putting together our first comfortghan. I'll post photos when it's done.

I'm doing an experiment for the 6" squares that highlights each square.

Thank you all for your love and crocheting.

I'm totally impressed by Laurine's daughter. An 8 year old making real squares for charity. Whoa! :yay

We just received two boxes, from Sahahne and Pineknott. Oh, ladies, your kindness is incredible. Your squares are beautiful, and the cards are so touching. I feel like I'm at a way station of love, just amazed at everyone's generosity to the Amish community. Hugs and double hugs, Mary

Kristen,

I received your squares yesterday. Thank you so much! I will let you know how the afghan is going. I couldn't read your PM because you have opted not to receive emails. If you have a question feel free to ask it here. Thank you again.

Thanks for letting me know, Denise. I may be sending you some more as soon as I finish up another obligation and return from vacation next week!

Thanks also for putting this together. Have a great weekend!

Kristen

(I changed my settings to allow emails...Sorry, didn't know I never adjusted them to begin with!)

The second afghan is done. Sundays are very busy for my photographer (DH), so we'll probably post pictures tomorrow.

Afghans three and four are progressing nicely.

Thank you all for your squares, kind words, and hugs. Mary

Four six inch squares are on their way - the 12" Heart Square kept coming out with lopsided hearts, so I frogged it. I didn't want to you have to wait until I made another one, so I'm sending the 4 little ones.

Let me know if you still need some 12" squares, and I'll re-do the heart one (or another pattern that isn't so persnickety!).

I have a question - will any of the afghan's go to Roberts family?

I just checked with a friend in PA who knew the Grandparents of the family. One girl did come home - probably the one that got shot in the shoulder. As for the other 4 - she doesn't know. The parents are keeping things quiet from the press. Which I think is good because I said why should they be treated any different than you or I just because they choose to live their lives simpler than the rest of us. But I do kow for a fact and I won't go into detail,.....there were Angels:angel amoung them at the school house.

That one looks nicer than the bobble heart one I was working on, Mary. I'll give it a shot, but I'm still sending the four grannys out to you today, or they risk getting dusty waiting for me to do them!

I was working on the other square in between other projects, and I think I just wasn't paying enough attention to my stitch count.

Here's our second afghan, which is mostly Pineknott's squares (just a few of mine):

http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h3/salos/crochet/SQ14.jpg

Our #3 'ghan is delayed.*

Here's our #4 ghan, with squares from Worm, Lostcove, Sahahne, and myself http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h3/salos/crochet/SQ15.jpg

*I know I'm weird.... it has to do with my system to keep track of whose squares are in each afghan.

I didn't mention that afghan #1 was all squares by Shaelynnsmom.

Here are some squares from both packages Mumbles 17 sent. Aren't they lovely...

Three packages came today.

Chrispersmom sent these: http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h3/salos/crochet/SQ17.jpg

Kriswilli sent these: http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h3/salos/crochet/SQ18.jpg

and someone from Project Rest Assured sent these ...64 6" squares! http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h3/salos/crochet/SQ19.jpg

Thank you all so very much! Mary

Don't worry about it, Alisha. This whole project is about love, not about meeting deadlines. :hug Glad you like the pictures. I'm so grateful for my husband's willingness to process them for us.
