Question
KnottedMind
I LOVE making purses. I have a whole Rubbermaid tub full of them and I keep making more! But they all have come from patterns.
I am NOT a designer and have no "creative juices". All I can do is follow a pattern. But, I have designed a purse that I really like. So I've tried to write the directions down and did a pretty good job except for one part that I need help describing.
Let's see if I can do this without being too confusing.
I crocheted a flat piece, then, in order to make a pocket, I slip stitched down one side, the crocheted across the piece, inserting my hook into the existing stitches and making single crochets until I reached the other side. Then I just single crocheted in that row until it was tall enough.
Now, all that does not sound too "professional". How would I word that so it sounded less "conversational".
So, say my pattern would read
sl st 10 down the side of the piece.
Ch 1
sc 20 across piece inserting hook into existing stitch posts.
Ch 1
etc.....
Does that paint a clear enough picture? Would beginners understand it? Do I need to add photos to make it clearer?
Thanks everyone!
