Strange grip- interesting article

she's a crocheter, I think. She holds her hook like I do--overhand (which the Victorians would have been appalled to see! ;)). And, like a pp said, she's holding it up to show the camera, and her piece is not upside-down. It looks like she's making a placemat, or something with fringe, with half of a Catherine Wheel stitch. Yes, it does look like she's in a mall--or perhaps a street cafe? In either case, if you look even more closely, you'll notice that she's sitting with someone who's making a granny-square afghan. I've crocheted in public--whether it be at the mall, at a coffee shop, a park, a play, a concert, classes (it kept me from being bored in my psychology and statistics courses in college--you know, those general ed courses that liberal arts universities think are so important to make certain you're more well-rounded?), etc. you should try it--crocheting in public is fun!!
