A Mile!

So I was talking to my fiance about yet another project I've started and he says "At the rate you're going, you'll need a mile of yarn." Well that got us thinking. I was making a mile-a-minute afghan for him so he asked how much yarn I was using. I figured out that i was using 2398 yards of yarn. That's almost a mile and a half! That's blowing my mind...but then again, it doesn't take much.

That's amazing! With all the projects, gifts and mistakes i've made I probably have traveled to california and back. It would be interesting to see where and how far we travle when making gifts and projects in just one year.

Hey, when I look at a skien and it says like 108 yds that sounds like alot (a football field is 100yds, right?) but now I know better. At that amount, it's like "I can make a scarf or maybe a purse--a small purse."

I've either been around the world quite a few times or to the moon; depending if you count all the little strands of embroidery yarn; needlpoint yarn and latch hook yarn I used in my teens.

Wow. I've never known how to judge amounts properly because I am in Australia and we don't use feet or yards. I've probably travelled a fair way though by now already!!
