I'd be glad to join, but I'm afraid I'm not up to those types of scarves yet. I'm working on something a bit more basic. I'm making a large number of easy scarves with this pattern...

Chain 13; DC in 2nd chain from hook; DC in each ch thereafter (11 total); *chain 2 turn; DC 1 in each sp for total of 11* repeat * til 60" or satisfied. Add fringe. Hope this makes sense, never wrote down a pattern before.

I've been using 1 strand Caron SS with 1-2 strands something intresting (like red heart symphony) and a N hook.

How about these as well?

Sage Snuggle Scarf

Spun Sugar Scarf

The first one is PERFECT for me since I have 2 skeins of Bright and Lofty to make a hat and scarf for DD age 4 in Bubblegum Pink! (any tips on what hat pattern to use?)

EDIT:

Christina has wonderful scarves too!

I don't know if I can manager a scarf a week with all the other WIPs and UFOs I have, but it will be a perfect excuse to use that skein of Light and Lofty that has been sitting around...! Thanks for the link.

And making scarfs for Christmas is very appealing to me, because I get to try out cool patterns without a huge commitment. And who can't use another scarf, right?

I think I might head over to crochetgarden (our own Etaria's site) to purchase the scarf patterns I've been eyeing...

Here's what I've done so far:

This is a rainbow scarf. Very simple but still kinda cute.

These are 2 plain, quickie scarves. Notice the matching rainbow hat I made also in this pic...SORRY the pics aren't great.

Very nice scarfs, Seashelly!

I've started my first one with Light and Lofty in pheasant, using the sage snuggle scarf pattern. It's so funny how quickly it works up compared to that all-sc afghan I've been working on for some time now. :lol

I'll post a pic when it gets a bit longer...or when I finish it.

I'm simultaneously (sort of, LOL) crocheting scarves number 4 & 5 for this CAL.

One if with bright acrylics in blue, green, and white, for a friend at the shelter whose asked for a scarf in those colors, and the other is in a fun fur of fall colors, (for me, I must admit! LOL)

I'll post pics when they are finished...hopefully better than my last pics. hehehe

here's my version of the week #1 scarf. I ran out of yarn so I only made 8 squares and I didn't do the edging.

:cheer for finishing another Christmas present!

I already made the week 2 scarf (although I will probably make a few more).

I think next I will start on the week 4 scarf.

Stephanie, your scarf turned out beautiful!!! A very lucky person that is who will receive that for a present this year!!

Juli - a scarfalong is like any other crochet-a-long. Several people work on the same project at the same time and post pics of there creation and progress.
