And yet ANOTHER RR question!

I just read the latest RR post here and looked at the pics - my center is spacey! Ya know, it looks like it really isn't gonna hold all those ripples.

 

How come on some pics, the center looks so solid and on others it looks more granny-squarish (if ya know what I mean!).

 

I HATE my 'ghan, I am about to frog it and start again with the pattern given in OP. What am I doing wrong?

I changed the center part of the one I made so it would be more solid. You can read about it here along with some other information about the pattern.

Thank you! I'm ripping it and starting over! Actually, I'm only ripping MOST of it - the cat has become extremely attached to it and I think she now has her own little RR for her bed!

well as long as someone is happy with it, it's not a complete loss!

Instead of joining a certain number of chains to make the beginning circle, I always use the magic ring to begin with. That way I can close the hole as much or as little as I want to.
