Any tips on getting yarn to not fuzz so much when washing

I machine wash and dry on low..any tips on getting the yarn to not fuzz the more you wash it?

Try putting it in a pillowcase and knot or tie it closed. It depends on the kind of yarn, but this helps with many of them.

OH i hate that!! I also wash my WW yarn items in a pillowcase, but another handy item is a sweater stone that can take those little pills and fuzzies off your makins.

OK thanks. Simply soft does it. I do use a lingerie bag...and wash alone.

I find washing them inside out helps, and I also find that often its the dryer that causes the damage...try to air dry if possible, lying the article flat. the pillow case, with a zipper, works for larger items and the lingerie bag for smaller ones. I have a bag that hangs on the dryer door, originally for drying sneakers that works for me. I think its the movement in the washer, or the dryer that causes pilling. It could even be the type of yarn good luck in solving this problem. A sweater shaver works well....available at Wal-mart.If you are going to get one, get the electric kind (no batteries)
