I love it! I've just finished a project and have a bunch of leftover beige yarn. The perfect color for a donut! I can't wait to make this, although I have several Christmas presents that need to be finished first... =)

DONUT PINCUSHION

donutcircleicingsprinklesml5.jpg

This one is a little bigger than the original donut, so the pins don't stick out the bottom. I used RH SS yarn but I would think any yarn would work. I crocheted it with a H hook but I crochet loosely, you may find another hook size better. FYI ------This hasn't been tested and I've never written a pattern before.

THIS PATTERN CAN'T BE SOLD ..............but the pattern may be copied and the item may be sold.

Materials

Yarn: any brown for donut - any white for frosting

Hook: H or any you prefer

Polyester filling

Straight pins with colored heads

Chain 18

Join to form ring

R1: sc in each chain around (do not join, mark beginning of every row)

R2: *1 sc, 2 sc in next sc*

Repeat to end of row

R3: sc

R4: *1 sc, 2 sc in next sc*

Repeat to end of row

R5- R10: sc

R11: *1 sc, dec in next sc* (sc two sc together)

Repeat to end of row

R12: sc

R13: *1 sc, dec in next sc*

Repeat to end of row

R14: sc

Finish off, leaving long tail for sewing

Fold so first and last rows meet, forming a donut

Whip stitch first & last rows together (center of donut) stuffing as you go

ICING (optional)

Chain 18

Join to form ring

Repeat rows 1-4 of donut

R:5 sc around, changing sc to 2 dc or 2 tr when needed, to form drips

Finish off, leaving long tail for sewing

Tack icing to top of donut & add straight pins

Thank You very much!

I love this pattern. I've made it with an F hook and an E hook and I crochet quite tightly and they've turned out great. I've sewn 'sprinkles' on to the icing as they're a bit small for a pin cushion. I'm so glad, as I am bored with cup cakes and I always seem to be being asked to provide something for a cake sale for charity. I can't cook and can crochet, so...

Hey, that looks good enough to eat LOL! I've got to make one - and get some of the colored pins to go in it. Thanks.
