Donut Pincushion Pattern

DONUT PINCUSHION

This one is a little bigger than the original donut, so the pins don't stick out the bottom. I used RH SS yarn but I would think any yarn would work. I crocheted it with a H hook but I crochet loosely, you may find another hook size better. FYI ------This hasn't been tested and I've never written a pattern before.

 

THIS PATTERN CAN'T BE SOLD ..............but the pattern may be copied and the item may be sold.

 

Materials

 

Yarn: any brown for donut - any white for frosting

Hook: H or any you prefer

Polyester filling

Straight pins with colored heads

 

Chain 18

Join to form ring

 

R1: sc in each chain around (do not join, mark beginning of every row)

 

R2: *1 sc, 2 sc in next sc*

Repeat to end of row

 

R3: sc

 

R4: *1 sc, 2 sc in next sc*

Repeat to end of row

 

R5- R10: sc

 

R11: *1 sc, dec in next sc* (sc two sc together)

Repeat to end of row

 

R12: sc

 

R13: *1 sc, dec in next sc*

Repeat to end of row

 

R14: sc

Finish off, leaving long tail for sewing

Fold so first and last rows meet, forming a donut

Whip stitch first & last rows together (center of donut) stuffing as you go

 

ICING (optional)

Chain 18

Join to form ring

Repeat rows 1-4 of donut

 

R:5 sc around, changing sc to 2 dc or 2 tr when needed, to form drips

 

Finish off, leaving long tail for sewing

Tack icing to top of donut & add straight pins

:tyfor the pattern! I plan on making a few to send to a friend for Christmas. :gift A couple of years ago I sent sent her 6 ice cream :icecream cone coasters (which included a very descriptive list of the flavors!) Just trying to help her with a diet. :devil

How cuuuuuute! And so low calorie. :-) I just made a coffee and donut combo that will be available on my website soon. I'd post it here, but I don't know how. Thanks for making this adorable pattern available.
