"Bear in a Blanket"

Using a size 8 or H hook and five 7-oz. skeins of yarn, this project works up fast.

 

The set shown here is being donated to "God's Tiny Angels", a charity for premature infants, and the pattern is available for purchase on my website (www.geocities.com/mrsd2688/babyitems). The blanket measures 35" x 35" and the bear stand 15-1/2" tall. He (or she!) fits in a corner pocket that also serves as a hood.

I started making mine last night. The pattern is working up very easily. I started with the blanket - not the bear. I'm making some as lapghans for the chemo unit. I'll do some with the bear, but I plan to do some with a matching hat and maybe a book tucked into the "pocket". It's great for a baby blanket, but also works well as a lapghan.
